Build the profession. Shape the future. Stay informed.
Appraisal isn’t aging out—it’s evolving.
Appraisal is a cornerstone of the U.S. financial system—and its future depends on us. This session looks beyond the “appraiser shortage” to focus on effective, practical strategies for strengthening the profession and growing our ranks—while navigating a changing regulatory environment. Get clear, practical insight into changes in qualification and experience pathways being considered by the Appraisal Subcommittee and The Appraisal Foundation—and what they may mean for supervisors, trainees, and the appraisal profession.
Attendees will gain:
- Insight into why appraisal remains essential to the US financial system stability and market confidence
- Effective, practical strategies for attracting, mentoring, and retaining new valuation professionals
- A clear overview of regulatory initiatives under consideration by the Appraisal Subcommittee and The Appraisal Foundation, including potential changes to AQB qualification criteria, experience pathways, and trainee supervision
- Perspective on how the contemplated regulatory reforms may affect supervisors, candidates, firms, and long‑term capacity
Suzy Gardner is a former senior FDIC leader and nationally recognized authority on real estate valuation policy and regulatory expectations.
