Education Scholarship Application

Scholarship Committee:

The members of the 2025 Scholarship Committee are Mitchell Austin, MAI, AI-GRS, Jacob Smith and Alex Yakulis, MAI.

Scholarship Criteria and Award Guidelines:

The criteria and award guidelines for the scholarship shall be as follows:

• Scholarship recipients shall be limited to non-designated professionals in the Appraisal Institute, North Texas Chapter.
• Scholarships shall apply toward the Appraisal Institute’s Qualifying Education and Designation Education courses, which are sponsored by the North Texas Chapter or the National office (classroom and online offerings). Scholarships shall also apply toward the Appraisal Institute’s Capstone Program. Scholarship funds can be applied retroactively to courses taken in 2023, prior to the announcement of the scholarship awards.
• Scholarships shall be used during the 2024 calendar year. Awarded funds will be paid when proof of successful completion of qualifying programs is provided to the Scholarship Committee. 
• There is no limit to the maximum scholarship award a non-designated professional can receive in any one year.
• Non-designated professionals serving on the Scholarship Committee are not eligible for a scholarship during their term of service on the committee.
• The Scholarship Committee’s work will be done in compliance with the Appraisal Institute’s policies and guidelines regarding non-discrimination.
• The Scholarship Committee shall consider the following criteria in determining scholarship award recipients:
  • Attend – Receive a free North Texas Chapter education program after attending six North Texas Chapter meetings within a two-year period.
  • Win – A drawing for a $500 scholarship will be held at each North Texas Chapter meeting. Winners must be in attendance to win.
  • Apply – Receive a scholarship up to $500 by submitting this Scholarship Application to the Chapter office and meeting the following criteria:
    • Non-designated professionals must be in good standing with the Appraisal Institute.
    • Provide general information about the applicant, including employment history, financial need, involvement in Chapter activities/meetings, and other pertinent information.
    • List AI courses successfully completed and provide educational background.
    • List experience credit earned and in which categories.

    • Provide anticipated date of designation.

 Scholarship Application Procedures:

• Applicants shall complete the Scholarship Application and submit it to the Chapter office (see below).
• There is no deadline to submit Scholarship Applications. However, scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis until all scholarship funds have been dispersed. 
• Scholarship funds shall be equitably distributed. 
• Should a 2024 scholarship recipient not use the scholarship award in 2024, scholarships can be used in 2025.

2025 Education Scholarship Application

Appraisal Institute, North Texas Chapter 

Annual scholarships totalling $5,000.00 will be distributed to non-designated professionals in the Appraisal Institute, North Texas Chapter for use toward the Appraisal Institute’s Qualifying Education and Designation Education courses, which are sponsored by the North Texas Chapter or the National office (classroom and online offerings), and the Capstone Program.
